What are Mattress Sizes?

Queen and King sizes were introduced in the 1940s by American mattress manufacturers. Twin and Full sizes had been the norm previous to that. What Type of Mattress is the Best to Purchase?
The modern marketplace is made up primarily of standard coil, memory foam, gel foam and hybrid products combining two or more of these characteristics. Within each of these types, however, there is great variety. As manufacturing technology has advanced, more and more variations and combinations have been introduced into the marketplace. Memory foam, for one, offers several advantages over standard coil mattresses and has been the preferred standard for many years. The material is at once firm (providing good support) and yet able to conform to the body shape of the sleeper. This then evenly distributes weight on the mattress. Purchasing a Mattress on Sale
Memory foam mattresses come at a higher price point than standard inner coil spring models. Gel foam brands are even higher priced. However, there is now a leveling of price points as manufacturing methods have become more efficient and prices have dropped. Even within luxury models, you can purchase mattress sets at well discounted prices quite often.

This is highly useful and these should be your first choice to purchase a mattress on sale. There is the tendency to expect that lower priced products would be of low quality, however, a good number of the budget brands available come with very favorable reviews.
